The Ideal Fall Bucketlist for 2024

Fall Favorites Activity Guide

Fall is in our midst—the leaves are turning, and the nights are getting crisper. To help you make the most of the short season, we’ve put together our Ideal Fall Bucket List for 2024! We hope you enjoy our list of favorite activities.

Visit and Apple Orchard: Apple orchards are the epitome of fall – they're beautiful, delicious, and fun for all. Many orchards offer apple picking, homemade cider, hayrides, and even petting zoos. It’s the perfect outing to enjoy the fresh autumn air.

Spend a Weekend Up North: Whether "Up North" means Minnesota, Michigan, or Wisconsin, head to a place where the leaves turn quicker, and the air is cool. Hike one of the many beautiful trails in the State Parks. Hear the leaves crunch beneath your feet, and appreciate the peaceful season.

Pick a Pumpkin at a Pumpkin Patch: As spooky season approaches, visiting a pumpkin patch is a must-do. Hunt for your perfect pumpkin – every patch has one – whether it’s big and round, short and petite, orange or green. All pumpkins are beautiful and make great home decor. Take your pumpkin to the next level by carving a face into it!

Bake a New Fall Recipe: Fall is all about comfort food! Find a new fall baking recipe, from apple pie, to pumpkin bread, to spiced cookies, and more. Try using the apples from the apple orchard to make a local apple pie. With notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin spice, you can’t go wrong.

Visit a Haunted House: For those seeking a thrill, visit a haunted house. Whether you love the adrenaline rush or just enjoy the spooky ambiance, these haunted attractions are a great way to add a little fright to your fall festivities.

Discover a New Coffee Shop: Cooler weather means time for hot coffee. Discover a new coffee shop in your neighborhood, or the city you’re traveling to, and order a pumpkin spice latte or a pumpkin chai. Find a cozy corner and curl up with a good book for the perfect fall morning.

Find a Fall Festival: There’s something about a fall festival that just screams autumn. From hay bales and tractor rides to craft vendors and caramel apples, festivals are packed with fall-themed fun. These family-friendly outings need to get added to your fall bucket list!

Take a Cidery, Winery, or Brewery Tour: October is prime time to explore local cideries, wineries, or breweries. Many locations offer tours where you can sample seasonal ciders or beers made from fall harvests. Don’t forget to try an Oktoberfest brew, a popular fall specialty!

Make a Movie Marathon: Take the cinema home and make your own movie marathon! Choose your favorite fall films, from Harry Potter to Hocus Pocus, roast some popcorn, dim the lights, and snuggle into some warm blankets for the ideal movie-watching experience.
